Teknetics Digitek Youth Metal Detector

The Teknetics Digitek Youth Metal Detector is designed specifically for young treasure hunters, preteens, and teens who want a lightweight detector with many of the useful features found on full-size hobby detectors. Operating at 7.69 kHz, the Digitek is well suited for coin shooting, jewelry hunting, relic hunting, and general treasure hunting.

The Digitek features a 7" elliptical concentric waterproof search coil that provides a good balance of target coverage and maneuverability. Its lightweight design, adjustable stem, padded armrest, and comfortable handgrip make it easy for younger detectorists to handle during extended detecting sessions.

A 0–99 numerical Target-ID, 3-tone audio identification, adjustable sensitivity, discrimination, notch settings, pinpoint mode, and depth indication give young users plenty of information to help identify and recover targets.

Key Features

• 7.69 kHz Operating Frequency – Provides versatile detection performance for coins, jewelry, relics, and other common metal targets.

• 7" Elliptical Concentric Waterproof Search Coil – Provides a practical combination of coverage, sensitivity, and maneuverability for younger detectorists.

• 0–99 Numerical Target-ID – Provides detailed target information to help identify potential finds before digging.

• 3-Tone Audio ID – Different audio tones provide additional information about detected targets.

• Full Discrimination – Allows unwanted target ranges to be rejected while searching for desirable objects.

• Notch Function – Provides additional control over specific target categories.

• Adjustable Sensitivity – Allows the detector to be adjusted for different ground conditions and environments.

• Adjustable Volume – Lets users set the audio level to a comfortable setting.

• Pinpoint Mode – Helps locate the approximate center of a detected target for more precise recovery.

• Graphic Depth Indicator – Provides an estimate of target depth to help determine how deeply to dig.

• Lightweight Design – At approximately 2.3 lbs, the Digitek is easy for younger users to carry and swing.

• Adjustable Stem – Allows the detector length to be adjusted for a comfortable fit.

• Padded Armrest & Handgrip – Designed to improve comfort during longer detecting sessions.

• Single 9V Battery – Provides approximately 15–20 hours of typical operating time.

Designed for Young Detectorists

The Digitek is built around the needs of preteens and teens who are getting started with metal detecting. Its lightweight construction and adjustable stem make it easier for younger users to achieve a comfortable detecting position.

Unlike basic children's detectors, the Digitek provides useful features such as numerical Target-ID, discrimination, notch, pinpointing, and depth indication, allowing young detectorists to learn more about how a metal detector works as they develop their skills.

7" Waterproof Search Coil

The 7" elliptical concentric search coil provides a good balance between maneuverability and detecting coverage.

Its smaller footprint makes the Digitek easy to control in areas containing vegetation, obstacles, or closely spaced targets. The coil is waterproof and can be used in wet conditions and shallow water.

Note: The search coil is waterproof, but the detector's control housing should not be submerged.

Target Identification

The Digitek provides both visual and audio target information.

The 0–99 numerical Target-ID gives a more detailed indication of the detected target's conductivity, while the 3-tone audio system provides different tones that help users evaluate targets without constantly looking at the display.

This makes the Digitek a useful detector for teaching younger users how different metals and objects respond.

Discrimination & Notch

The Digitek includes full discrimination and notch functionality, allowing users to customize the detector's response to unwanted metal objects.

Discrimination can help reduce responses from common unwanted targets, while the notch function provides more specific control over selected target ranges.

Pinpoint & Depth Indicator

Once a target is detected, the pinpoint function helps narrow down its location before digging. This can make target recovery easier and reduce unnecessary digging.

The graphic depth indicator also provides an estimate of how deep the target is located, helping users decide how much soil may need to be removed.

Lightweight & Adjustable Design

At approximately 2.3 lbs, the Digitek is designed to be comfortable for younger detectorists. The adjustable stem allows the detector to be set to an appropriate length, while the padded armrest and handgrip provide additional support during longer hunts.
